Dufferin Street emergency sewer repair: TTC revising detours

A sewer on Dufferin Street just north of Springhurst Avenue (near Exhibition Place and the TTC’s Dufferin Gate Loop) partially collapsed Friday, January 20, blocking the roadway to all traffic.

The City of Toronto has closed:

  • Dufferin Street between Liberty Street and Saskatchewan Road / British Columbia Road,

while crews repair the infrastructure.

The TTC has been detouring buses and streetcars along these routes since then, while the street has been closed:

  • 29 Dufferin;
  • 329 Dufferin overnight;
  • 501 Queen;
  • 504 King; and
  • 929 Dufferin express.

The transit agency has revised these detours since January 20. And, with the end of emergency water-main repairs on King Street West at University Avenue, the TTC is further revising the detour routing for streetcars along the 504 King route.

Shuttle buses continue to replace streetcars along King and Queen streets west — west of Bathurst along King and west of Roncesvalles Avenue along Queen.

Emergency sewer repairs on Dufferin Street and the resulting TTC detours continue until further notice.
