Subway closes early, Osgoode to King: February 13 to 16

The TTC is closing Line 1 Yonge - University subway between Osgoode and King stations earlier than usually Monday, February 13 until Thursday, February 16. Line 1 subway trains operate only between Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and Osgoode stations and between Finch and King stations after 11 p.m. those days.

Frequent shuttle buses partly replace subway service. The buses stop on-street near each of the stations on the closed section of the line.

All stations remain open so you can buy or pay for fares or connect to other TTC buses and streetcars, GO Transit trains and buses and UP Express trains.

Since King Station is not yet accessible, if you’re travelling southbound along the Yonge side of Line 1 and you require an accessible connection, exit the train at Queen Station and ask any TTC customer service employee for directions or help.

While this section of Line 1 is closed, TTC crews are maintaining the tracks.

According to a TTC news release, “While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.”

The TTC is closing this section of Line 1 twice more during February:

  • Tuesday, February 21 until Thursday, February 23 — Osgoode to College — track work.
  • Monday, February 27 until Thursday, March 2 — Osgoode to College — track work.
