GO revising train services, February 21



GO Transit is revising train services, starting Tuesday, February 21.

The highlight? Thirty-minute service along the 01 Lakeshore West line between Union Station and Aldershot GO Station continues later Monday-to-Friday evenings.


GO is revising service along these line: 01 Lakeshore West; 09 Lakeshore East; 21 Milton; 31 Kitchener; 65 Barrie; 71 Stouffville.

Increasing service along a line


01 Lakeshore West

Starting Tuesday, February 21, 30-minute service between Union Station and Aldershot GO Station continues after 9 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

The eastbound trains that usually start in Exhibition GO Station at 9:35, 10:35 and 11:35 p.m. start, instead, in Aldershot at 8:54, 9:54 and 10:54 p.m. They leave Exhibition 17 minutes later than usually at at 9:52, 10:52 and 11:52 p.m. They end their trips in Union at 10:01 and 11:01 p.m. and 12:01 a.m.

GO’s also extending three westbound trains that usually end in Exhibition GO Station. They start in Union at 9:13, 10:13 and 11:13 p.m. and end in Aldershot at 10:22 and 11:22 p.m. and 12:22 a.m. GO is also operating another train on a new westbound trip along the line. It starts in Union at 12:13 a.m. and ends in Aldershot at 1:22 a.m.

GO is also adjusting the schedules for trains along the line and making another change to service along the line.

Adjusting the schedules for trains along lines


09 Lakeshore East

GO adjusting its schedules to provide more consistent departure times and to allow some trains to stop longer in stations.

Starting Tuesday, February 20, all westbound trains from D urham College Oshawa GO Station after 6 p.m. leave stations two minutes earlier than usually. All eastbound trains from Union Station after 7:30 p.m. leave one minute later than usually.

01 Lakeshore West

GO adjusting its schedules to provide more consistent departure times and to allow some trains to stop longer in Exhibition and Oakville GO stations.

Starting Tuesday, February 20, the eastbound trains that usually start in West Harbour GO Station at 9, 10 and 11 p.m. start, instead, at 9:13, 10:13 and 11:13 p.m. They drop off or pick up passengers in stations as much as 13 minutes later than usually. They end their trips in Union Station at 9:55, 10:55 and 11:55 p.m.

All westbound trains from Union after 6:45 p.m. start their trips two minutes later than usually. They leave stations west of Exhibition GO Station one minute earlier than usually.

GO is also increasing service and making other changes to service along the line.

Making other changes to service along lines


65 Barrie

GO is adjusting the length of a few of its trains, it says, to use its resources “where they are needed most.” Some trains may be longer than others.

Starting Tuesday, February 21, the southbound train that leaves Allandale Waterfront GO Station at 9:05 p.m. increases to ten cars long. (The train ends its trip in Union Station at 10:48 p.m.)

The northbound train that leaves Union at 5:53 p.m. increases to ten cars long. (The train ends its trip in Allandale at 7:40 p.m.)

GO is advising passengers to “look down the platform when the train approaches as you may need to adjust where you’re waiting. Be sure to use all available doors to board and listen for station announcements.” It adds, “We continue to monitor ridership and will adjust train lengths as needed.”

31 Kitchener

Starting Tuesday, February 21, the westbound train that leaves Union Station at 8:34 p.m. decreases to just ten cars long. (The train ends its trip in Mount Pleasant GO Station at 9:23 p.m.)

GO is advising passengers to “look down the platform when the train approaches as you may need to adjust where you’re waiting. Be sure to use all available doors to board and listen for station announcements.” It adds, “We continue to monitor ridership and will adjust train lengths as needed.”

Starting Tuesday, February 21, the eastbound train that leaves Milton GO Station at 8:29 a.m. decreases to just ten cars long. (The train ends its trip in Union Station at 9:33 a.m.)

The westbound train that leaves Union at 3:40 p.m. decreases to just ten cars long. (The train ends its trip in Milton GO Station at 4:42 p.m.)

GO is advising passengers to “look down the platform when the train approaches as you may need to adjust where you’re waiting. Be sure to use all available doors to board and listen for station announcements.” It adds, “We continue to monitor ridership and will adjust train lengths as needed.”

71 Stouffville

GO is adjusting the length of a few of its trains, it says, to use its resources “where they are needed most.” Some trains may be longer or shorter than others.

Starting Tuesday, February 21, the northbound train that leaves Union Station at 11:13 p.m. increases to ten cars long. (The train ends its trip in Old Elm GO Station at 12:23 a.m.)


The southbound train that leaves Mount Joy GO Station at 7:34 p.m. decreases to just ten cars long. (The train ends its trip in Union Station at 8:28 p.m.)

The northbound train that leaves Union at 6:13 p.m. decreases to just ten cars long. (The train ends its trip in Mount Joy at 7:06 p.m.)
