Starting Monday, March 6, the Region of York is closing
- Yonge Street (Regional Road 51) between Old Yonge Street / Holland Landing Road and Yonge Street / Highway 11
in the Town of East Gwillimbury during a construction project to improve the roadway and build a retaining wall. Closing the roadway accommodates the large equipment that is helping contractors install the anchors for the retaining wall and ensures the safety of travellers and construction crews.

From Monday, May 6 until Friday, May 19, southbound buses operate along their regular path to Highway 11 and Bathurst Street, then detour:
southeastward along Highway 11 to Yonge Street / Morning Sideroad,
resuming their regular path southward along Yonge.Southbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Toll Road across from Sluse Road / Oriole Drive and Centennial Avenue and at Bradford Street,
- on Bradford Street at Yonge Street and
- on Yonge Street across from North Street and at Queen Street.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Highway 11 at Bathurst Street, across from Crimson King Way and at Sherwood Glen.
Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.
Northbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Yonge Street at Mount Albert Road and North Street and across from Morton Vale Drive,
- on Bradford Street at Olive Street and
- on Toll Road beyond Bradford Street and Centennial Avenue and at Oriole Drive.

- on Highway 11 at Dogwood Boulevard, Crimson King Way and Bathurst Street.
