A sewer on Dufferin Street just north of Springhurst Avenue (near Exhibition Place and the TTC’s Dufferin Gate Loop) partially collapsed Friday, January 20, blocking the roadway to all traffic.
Monday, March 27, City of Toronto crews completed most of the emergency repairs and the City reopened:
- Dufferin Street between Liberty Street and Saskatchewan Road / British Columbia Road.
The TTC is restoring service to this part of Dufferin and buses along this route resumed regular service:
- 29 Dufferin.
However, buses still can’t operate through Dufferin Gate Loop, so buses along these routes continue to detour:
Streetcars along the 504B King route that also usually operate through Dufferin Loop continue to detour due to other construction projects.
Further south, buses along routes 29 and 329 continue to detour around Metrolinx construction for the future Ontario Line subway near Exhibition GO Station.

Starting Friday, January 20, southbound buses operate along their regular path to Dufferin Street and King Street West, then detour:
eastward along King West;
southward along Strachan Avenue;
westward along East Liberty and Liberty streets to Dufferin,
ending their trips.Southbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Dufferin Street across from Liberty Street and at Springhurst Avenue and
- in Dufferin Gate Loop.
Northbound buses start their trips on Liberty Street at Dufferin Street, then proceed:
along their regular path northward along Dufferin.
