Metrolinx is starting a project to update amenities, enhance accessibility and create more connections at Long Branch GO Station, as part of the GO Expansion Program.
Starting Monday, April 3, GO Transit is closing a small part of the northwest corner of the parking lot. Contractors will use this area as the construction lay-down area. Crews have installed fences, gates and sings for your safety. Be cautious around construction areas and watch for signs with information to guide you safely on your way.

During the project to upgrade Long Branch GO Station, Metrolinx intends to build:
- a new west entrance building;
- a new west tunnel with elevators and stairs to the platforms;
- new east pedestrian access (either a bridge or tunnel) with elevators and stairs to the platform;
- a new east entrance building with washrooms and waiting area;
- better access from Edgeware Drive to the north platform (lighting, wayfinding signs and closed-circuit television [CCTV] cameras);
- a better parking lot, including pedestrian walkways, a passenger drop-off and pick-up area (or “Kiss and Ride), bike lanes and bike shelters;
- a new secure bike storage room;
- better platforms with snow-melting system and heated shelters; and
- better tracks that will enable future electrification of trains.
Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Lakeshore West line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
