The TTC is raising the single cash and pay-as-you-go PRESTO fares for youths and adults by 10 cents Monday, April 3. The fares for seniors, Fair Pass Assistance Program users and monthly pass passengers remain the same as they have been since 2019.
According to the TTC, “Revenue from this fare increase, in addition to the City of Toronto’s proposed subsidy to the TTC of $958.7 million, will help us ensure the system is reliable, safe and accessible for all Torontonians.”
Toronto City Council approved the fare increase as part of the City’s 2023 budget process during its meeting of Wednesday, *February 15. It also approved cutting TTC services as part of the same budget process, meaning that many passengers will be paying more for less service starting April 3.
