Aurora GO Station: Less parking, starting April 10

Metrolinx is upgrading Aurora GO Station, as part of the GO Expansion Program.

Starting Monday, April 10, GO Transit is closing part of the southwest parking lot near Berczy Street to accommodate upcoming construction at the station.

The other outdoor parking lots and the parking structure remain available.

During construction at the station, Metrolinx intends to:

  • build a second platform;
  • install a second track;
  • add about 380 new parking spaces;
  • upgrade the rail signals;
  • build a new pedestrian tunnel with elevators; and,
  • installing edge tactile tile on the east platform to improveaccessibility.

Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Barrie line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
