Hunter West / Pearl South Hamilton construction: HSR detour, starting April 17



Starting Monday, April 17, the City of Hamilton is closing to traffic

  • the intersection of Hunter Street West with **Pearl Street South

to accommodate crews who are repairing the water main.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 7 Locke.

Water-main construction at the intersection of Hunter West / Pearl South and the resulting HSR detour continue until April 20.


7 Locke

Inbound buses operate along their regular path.

From 9 a.m. Monday, April 17 until 5 p.m. Thursday, April 20, outbound buses operate along their regular path to Hunter Street West and Queen Street South, then detour:

southward along Queen South; and then
westward along Charlton Avenue West to Locke Street South,
resuming their regular path westward along Charlton West.

Outbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Hunter Street West at Pearl and Locke streets south and
  • on Locke Street South at Melbourne Street and Charlton Avenue West.

Instead, outbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Queen Street South beyond Duke Street and at Charlton Avenue West and
  • on Charlton Avenue West at Locke Street South.

Inbound buses operate toward downtown.

Outbound buses operate away from downtown.
