MiWay revises routes and services, starting April 24



MiWay is improving service along the 61 Mavis route, reducing service to and from colleges and universities and adjusting the schedules for buses along several routes, starting Monday, April 24.

According to the Mississauga transit agency, these service changes help deliver some of the benefits of the MiWay 5 transit service plan, including stronger corridors to support a grid network and more off-peak service.


MiWay is revising service along these MiLocal routes: 6 Credit Woodlands; 10 Bristol - Britannia; 15 Drew; 18 McLaughlin - Derry; 42 Derry; 44 Mississauga Road; 45 Winston Churchill; 61 Mavis; 66 McLaughlin; 99 College shuttle.

And, MiWay is revising service along these MiExpress routes: 101A Dundas; 107 Malton; 110 University.

Cancelling a route


99 College shuttle

Fewer passengers travel to and from Sheridan College’s Davis campus during spring and summer. Friday, April 21 is the last day until September that MiWay operates buses along the route.

Regular service resumes Tuesday, September 5.

Increasing service along a route


15 Drew

MiWay has announced that the long-term detour for buses along the route will become the permanent path.

Starting Monday, April 24, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a new stop (for this route)

  • on Torbram Road at Drew Road.

Westbound buses buses serve passengers at a new stop (for this route)

  • on Torbram Road at Kimbel Street.

Decreasing service along routes


15 Drew

MiWay has announced that the long-term detour for buses along the route will become the permanent path.

Starting Monday, April 24, eastbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at their former stops

  • on Drew Road beyond Torbram Road and beside #2600 Drew and
  • on Kimbel Street beside #7346 Kimbel and at Torbram Road.

Westbound buses no longer serve passengers at their former stops

  • on Kimbel Street beyond Torbram Road and beside #s 7350 and 7300 Kimbel and
  • on Drew Road beyond Kimbel Street [2 stops] and at Torbram Road.

101A Dundas express

Fewer passengers travel to and from the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus during spring and summer. Friday, April 21 is the last day until September that MiWay buses along the 101A branch of the route stop on campus. Starting Monday, April 24 all buses remain on Dundas Street West and don’t divert along Mississauga Road to and from U of T Mississauga.

Spring / summer service ends and regular service resumes Tuesday, September 5.

107 Malton express

Fewer passengers travel to and from the Humber College’s North campus during spring and summer. Friday, April 21 is the last day until September that MiWay buses along the route operate to and from the campus Mondays to Fridays. Starting Monday, April 24 all buses start and end trips at Westwood Square terminal during all times.

Spring / summer service ends and regular service resumes Tuesday, September 5.

Increasing the frequency of service along a route


61 Mavis

MiWay is increasing the frequency of service along the route Monday-to-Friday midday and late evenings. MiWay says it’s improving service to respond “to ridership growth” and to help “provide more capacity” along the route.

Starting Monday, April 24, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:

  • every 14 minutes, from about 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and
  • every 13 minutes after about 10 p.m.

44 Mississauga Road

Fewer passengers travel to and from the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus during spring and summer. Starting Monday, April 24, MiWay is decreasing the frequency of service along the route Mondays to Fridays until September.

Revising the path for buses along a route


15 Drew

Since Wednesday, June 22, 2022, the City of Mississauga has closed

  • Kimbel Street between Drew Road and Torbram Road and
  • Drew Road between Kimbel Street and Torbram Road

to accommodate Region of Peel contractors who are completing a project to replace the sanitary sewer and water main.

MiWay has been detouring buses along the route, while the streets have been closed.

Starting Monday, April 24, MiWay is making the detour routing the permanent path for buses along the route.

Eastbound buses operate along their former path to Drew and Torbram roads, then proceed:

northward along Torbram to Kimbel Street,
resuming their regular path northward along Torbram.

Eastbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at their former stops

  • on Drew Road beyond Torbram Road and beside #2600 Drew and
  • on Kimbel Street beside #7346 Kimbel and at Torbram Road.

Instead, eastbound buses serve passengers at a new stop (for this route)

  • on Torbram Road at Drew Road.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound path.

Westbound buses no longer serve passengers at their former stops

  • on Kimbel Street beyond Torbram Road and beside #s 7350 and 7300 Kimbel and
  • on Drew Road beyond Kimbel Street [2 stops] and at Torbram Road.

Instead, westbound buses serve passengers at a new stop (for this route)

  • on Torbram Road at Kimbel Street.

Starting Saturday, April 29, MiWay is adjusting the schedules for buses operating along the route Saturdays, Sundays and holidays “to improve service reliability as traffic and ridership patterns continue to evolve throughout the city.” MiWay says it may further adjust schedules as necessary “to ensure that services remain responsive to [passenger] needs.”
