The Region of Peel and the City of Mississauga are closing many streets throughout the city this Sunday to accommodate the annual race.
Sunday morning and early afternoon at various times, the Region and City are closing:
- Burnhamthorpe Road West, westbound lanes, between Hurontario Street and Erin Mills Parkway, from 7 until 11 a.m.;
- Burnhamthorpe Road West, eastbound lanes, between Erin Mills Parkway and Promontory Crescent, from 7 until 11 a.m.; and
- Mississauga Road, northbound lanes, between Dundas Street West and Burnhamthorpe Road, from 7 until 9:30 a.m.
North- and southbound traffic can’t cross Burnhamthorpe West during the closure.
The University of Toronto is also closing Outer Circle Road through its Mississauga Campus.
The event starts at 7 a.m. As the race participants clear the route, Peel Regional Police officers may reopen the streets to traffic. Most streets reopen by 11 a.m.
Participants raise funds to help support several charities in Mississauga and Peel Region.

Saturday afternoon, Exhibition Place is closing various streets in its grounds to accommodate crowds of Toronto FC fans before, during and after its match with New York City FC at BMO Field.
According to a news release, the TTC is detouring buses while the streets are closed, but it has not announced detour-routing details. We’ve based this part of the post on information the TTC has provided about detours to accommodate Toronto FC matches during previous occasions.

westward along Springhurst;
southward along Fort Rouille Street; and then
eastward into Dufferin Gate Loop,
ending their trips.Southbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Saskatchewan Road beyond Dufferin Street,
- on Princes’ Boulevard at Ontario Drive,
- on Nunavut Road beside the Horse Palace,
- on Nova Scotia Avenue at Manitoba Drive and
- on Canada Boulevard at Princes’ Boulevard.
Instead, southbound buses drop off passengers at stop
- in Dufferin Gate Loop.
Northbound buses start their trips in Dufferin Gate Loop, then proceed:
along their regular path northward along Dufferin.
Northbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Canada Boulevard at Princes’ Boulevard,
- on Princes’ Boulevard across from Newfoundland Road and at Ontario Drive,
- on Saskatchewan Road at Dufferin Street and
- on Dufferin Street at Springhurst Avenue.
Instead, northbound buses pick up passengers at stop
- in Dufferin Gate Loop.
