Region of Peel contractors continue the ongoing project to replace water mains and sanitary sewers and resurface the roadways on
- Main streets north and south between Theatre Lane / Nelson Street West and Wellington Street,
- Queen streets west and east between Mill Street South and Theatre Lane / Chapel Street
and other streets in downtown Brampton.
Starting Wednesday, May 10, City of Brampton closing
- Main Street South, southbound lanes, between Queen and Wellington streets
to accommodate the sewer construction.
Brampton Transit is detouring buses along these routes, while the lanes are closed:
Sewer construction on Main Street South and the resulting BT detours continue “for approximately two (2) months”, meaning construction and the detours continue as late as until July 31.

Southbound buses operate along their regular path.
From Wednesday, May 10 until Monday, July 31, northbound buses operate along their regular path to Main Street South and Wellington Street, then detour:
westward along Wellington West;
northward along George streets south and north; and then
eastward along Nelson Street West to Main North,
resuming their regular path northward along Main.Northbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Main Street North beyond Queen Street East and Theatre Lane.
Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop
- on George Street North beyond Diplock Lane.
