Starting 8 p.m. Friday, May 12. the Region of Halton is closing
- Appleby Line [Regional Road 20] between 50 metres north of Heron Way and Upper Middle Road and
- Upper Middle Road {Regional Road 38] between Heron Way and Broadleaf Crescent / Imperial Way
in the City of Burlington to accommodate contractors who are resurfacing the roadways.
Burlington Transit is detouring buses along these routes, while the streets are closed:

This phase of construction at Appleby / Upper Middle and the resulting Burlington Transit detours continue until May 15 (5 a.m.)
The contractors return to the intersection for another phase of the project and Burlington Transit again detours the buses from May 26 until 29.
51 Burlington Northeast late-night
Friday, May 12, Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14, buses operate along their regular path to Upper Middle Road and Imperial Way / Broadleaf Crescent, then detour:
southward along Imperial;
westward along Ironstone Drive; and then
northward along Heron Way to Upper Middle,
resuming their regular path westward along Upper Middle.Buses skip their regular stop
- on Upper Middle Road at Broadleaf Crescent.
11 Sutton Alton
From 10 p.m. Friday, May 12 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 15, southbound buses operate along their regular path to to Upper Middle Road and Imperial Way / Broadleaf Crescent, then detour:
southward along Imperial; and then
westward along Ironstone Drive to Appleby Line,
resuming their regular path southward along Appleby.Southbound buses skip their regular stop
- on Upper Middle Road at Broadleaf Crescent.
Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.
Northbound buses skip their regular stop
- on Appleby Line beyond Ironstone Drive.
Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop
- on Appleby Line at Ironstone Drive.
12 Upper Middle
From 10 p.m. Friday, May 12 until 5 a.m. Monday, May 15, eastbound buses operate along their regular path to Upper Middle Road and Heron Way, then detour:
north- and eastward along Heron to Appleby Line,
resuming their regular path northward along Appleby.Eastbound buses skip their regular stop
- on Upper Middle Road at Heron Way.
Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop
- on Heron Way beyond Upper Middle Road.
Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.
