Subway closes early, June 5 to 9: Woodbine to Broadview

The TTC is closing Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway between Woodbine and Broadview stations earlier than usually Monday, June 5 until Friday, June 9. Line 2 subway trains operate only between Kennedy and Woodbine and between Kipling and Broadview stations after 11 p.m. those evenings.

Shuttle buses partially replace subway service. The buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops near each station on the closed section of the line. TTC staff are available in each to station to direct you to the shuttle-bus boarding and offloading locations.

Most stations on this section of Line 2 remain open, so you can buy fares or connect to TTC buses or streetcars. However, Chester Station is closed.

Note also that the TTC is temporarily closing the Lipton Avenue entrance / exit at Pape Station. Enter or exit the station by the main entrance off Pape Avenue.

Although shuttle buses are accessible, Wheel-Trans is also available at all stations on the closed section of the line. Ask TTC staff in each station for information about Wheel-Trans service from that station.

While this section of Line 1 is closed, TTC crews are maintaining the tracks.

According to a TTC news release, “While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and… signal upgrades.”

The TTC is closing this section of Line 2 once more during June:

  • Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11 — Woodbine to Broadview — track work.
