TTC revising routes and services, starting July 4



The TTC is revising its routes to respond to ongoing construction projects, starting Wednesday, July 4.

Specifically, it’s revising service along these routes:

  • 47A Lansdowne;
  • 306 Carlton overnight;
  • 501X Queen extra buses;
  • 503 Kingston Rd;
  • 504X King extra buses;
  • 505 Dundas;
  • 506 Carlton; and
  • 512 St Clair.

Shuttle buses continue to replace route 506 streetcars east of Broadview Avenue.


506 Carlton

Monday, July 3 is the last day that the TTC extends the path so that streetcars operate along Broadview Avenue and Queen Street East to and from Woodbine Loop (northeast corner of Queen East and Kingston Road).

Instead, starting Tuesday, July 4, eastbound cars operate along their regular path to Gerrard Street East and Broadview,
ending their trips.

Eastbound cars skip their temporary stops

  • on Broadview Avenue at Mountstephen Street and Dundas and Queen streets east and
  • on Queen Street East at Saulter Street, Empire, Logan, Carlaw, Pape and Caroline avenues, across from Jones Avenue, at Leslie Street, across from Alton and Greenwood avenues and at Woodfield Road and Coxwell and Eastern avenues.

Shuttle buses continue to replace streetcars east of Broadview Avenue. Eastbound streetcar passengers may transfer to eastbound buses at stops on Gerrard Street East between Parliament Street and Broadview.

Westbound cars start their trips eastbound on Gerrard Street East at Broadview Avenue, then proceed:

southward along Broadview;
eastward along Dundas Street East; and then
northward along Parliament Street to Gerrard East,
resuming their regular path northward along Parliament.

Westbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at new temporary stops

  • on Gerrard Street East (eastbound) at Broadview Avenue,
  • on Broadview Avenue at Mountstephen Street and Dundas Street East and
  • on Dundas Street East at Munro and River streets, across from Regent Park Boulevard and at Parliament Street and
  • on Parliament Street at Oak Street and Gerrard Street East.

Westbound cars no longer serve passengers at former temporary stops

  • on Queen Street East at Kingston Road, Coxwell Avenue, Woodfield Road, Greenwood and Alton avenues, Leslie Street, Jones, Brooklyn, Pape, Carlaw and Logan avenues, beyond Booth Avenue and at Boulton and Broadview avenues and
  • on Broadview Avenue at Dundas Street East.

Shuttle buses continue to replace streetcars east of Broadview Avenue.

306 Carlton overnight

The TTC continues to replace streetcars with buses along the entire route. Starting Monday, June 19, it detours the buses around the construction at Gerrard East / Coxwell.

Westbound buses start their trips in Victoria Park Station bus terminal, then proceed:

southward along Victoria Park Avenue; and then
eastward along Gerrard Street East to Main Street,
resuming the regular path for route 306 vehicles westward along Gerrard East.

They continue along the regular path to Gerrard and Coxwell, then detour:

northward along Coxwell;
westward along Danforth Avenue; and then
southward along Greenwood Avenue to Gerrard,
resuming their regular path westward along Gerrard.

  • on Danforth Avenue at Monarch Park Avenue and Linsmore Crescent and
  • on Greenwood Avenue beyond Danforth Avenue, at Oakvale Avenue, across from Felstead Avenue and Torbrick Road and at Ivy Avenue and Gerrard Street East.

506C Carlton shuttle buses

Since Sunday, May 7, the TTC has operated buses, instead of streetcars along the 506 Carlton route east of Broadview Avenue. Starting Sunday, June 18, it detours the buses around streetcar-track construction at Gerrard Street East / Coxwell Avenue.

Westbound buses start their trips in Victoria Park Station bus terminal, then proceed:

southward along Victoria Park Avenue,
westward along (upper) Gerrard Street East;
northward along Coxwell Avenue;
westward along Danforth Avenue;
southward along Greenwood Avenue;
westward along (lower) Gerrard Street East;
northward along Parliament Street;
eastward along Bloor Street East; and then
northward into Castle Frank Station bus terminal,
ending their trips.

  • in Main Street Station terminal,
  • on Main Street at (upper) Gerrard Street East,

505 Dundas

Since Monday, May 7, streetcars have operated to and from Bingham Loop — near the northwest corner of Kingston Road and Victoria Park Avenue — instead of Broadview Station terminal. Starting Tuesday, July 4, the cars only operate to and from Bingham evenings after 8 p.m.. Before 8 p.m., streetcars start and end their trips in Woodbine Loop — on the northeast corner of Kingston and Queen Street East.


Before 8 p.m., westbound cars start their trips in Woodbine Loop, then proceed:

southward along Bingham Avenue;
west- and southwestward along Kingston Road;
westward along Queen Street East; and then
northward along Broadview Avenue to Dundas Street East,
resuming their regular path westward along Dundas East.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • in Broadview Station terminal,
  • on Erindale Avenue at Broadview Avenue,
  • on Broadview Avenue at Danforth Avenue, across from Wolfrey Avenue, Millbrook Crescent, Withrow and Langley avenues, Jack Layton Way, Gerrard Street East, Mountstephen Street and Dundas Street East.

Instead, westbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • in Bingham Loop,
  • on Bingham Avenue at Kingston Road,
  • on Kingston Road at Scarborough Road, across from Beech Avenue and Glen Manor Drive, at Main Street, across from Lee Avenue, at Brookside Drive, across from Elmer Avenue, at Woodbine Avenue, across from Columbine Avenue and at Dundas and Queen streets east,

Friday, June 30 was the last day that the TTC operates westbound buses along the route. (Eastbound buses operated along the 501X Queen route.)

Starting Tuesday, July 4, it resumes service along the 503 Kingston Rd to replace the extra bus service.

503 Kingston Rd

Starting Tuesday, July 4, the TTC resumes service along the route every day before about 8 p.m. Buses operate instead of streetcars.

In downtown Toronto, westbound buses operate along the regular path for route 503 to King Street East and Church Street, then proceed:

eastward along King streets east and west, and then
northward along York Street to Adelaide Street West,
ending their trips.

  • on Church Street at Wellington Street East,
  • on Wellington Street East at Yonge Street,
  • on Wellington Street West at Bay and York streets and
  • on York Street at King Street West.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on King Street West beyond Yonge and Bay streets and
  • on York Street at Adelaide Street West.

47A Lansdowne

The City of Toronto is delaying its project to rehabilitate St. Clair Avenue West under the Metrolinx bridge west of Caledonia Road / Caledonia Park Road. (The bridge carries GO Transit trains along the Barrie line across the roadway.)

Although the TTC is resuming streetcar service along the 512 St Clair route under the bridge, it continues to operate buses along the 47A branch of the route between Gunns Loop and Lansdowne Avenue.

Southbound buses continue to drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Gunns Loop and
  • on St. Clair Avenue West at Keele Street, Old Weston Road, Hounslow Heath Road and Laughton Avenue and beyond Caledonia Park Road.

Northbound buses continue to drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on St. Clair Avenue West beyond Lansdowne Avenue, at Caledonia Road, across from Laughton Avenue and at Silverthorn Avenue and Old Weston Road and
  • in Gunns Loop.

Destination signs for the route continue to identify the buses as operating along the “47 / 512 Lansdowne / St Clair” route.

501X Queen extras

Friday, June 30 was the last day that the TTC operates eastbound buses along the route. (Westbound buses operated along the 504X King route.)

Starting Tuesday, July 4, it resumes service along the 503 Kingston Rd to replace the extra bus service.

512 St Clair
