Range Line Road Ajax construction: DRT detour, starting July 5



Starting Thursday, July 5, the Town of Ajax is closing

  • Range Line Road between Shoal Point Road and Pickering Beach Road

to accommodate a project to improve the roadway and install new sidewalks, curbs and other safety measures.

Durham Region Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

Construction on Range Line Road and the resulting DRT detour continue until Octoer 30.


Route 222

From 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 5 until 5 p.m. Monday, October 30, westbound buses operate along their regular path to Ashberry Boulevard and Shoal Point Road, then detour:

northward along Shoal Point; and then
westward along Bayly Street East to Pickering Beach Road / Salem Road,
resuming their regular path westward along Bayly East.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Range Line Road at Mayor Crescent and Poplar Road and
  • on Pickering Beach Road at Rollo Drive [south], beside #727 Pickering Beach and at Rollo Drive [north], Howling Crescent, Greenhalf Drive [north] and Powers Valley Court.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Shoal Point Road at Warwicks Avenue and Marjoram Drive and
  • on Bayly Street East across from Boone Lane.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular path.
