Monday, July 17, City of Toronto contractors start a project to rebuild.

  • Bloor Street West, between Spadina Road / Spadina Avenue and Avenue Road / Queen’s Park.

The project involves:

  • replacing the entire road pavement structure, including the asphalt and concrete road base; and
  • repairing road drainage, curbs, boulevards and sidewalks.

Crews are also:

  • installing permanent raised cycle tracks between Spadina and Avenue / Queen’s Park;
  • building a protected intersection at Bloor Street West and St. George Street; and
  • improving green infrastructure and streetscaping.

During the project, the work zone restricts Bloor West to just one lane of traffic in each direction. Passengers aboard buses along this route can expect delays:

  • 300 Bloor - Danforth overnight.

This is the final phase of work that the City has planned along this segment of Bloor Street West after it installed permanent cycle tracks between Bathurst Street and Spadina in 2019 and replaced the water main in August 2021.

Construction on Bloor West (for this year) and the resulting TTC delay continue until December 16.
