Starting on 11 p.m., Friday, July 21, TTC track crews are repairing the concrete in the streetcar tracks
- on Bathurst Street between College Street and Dundas Street West.
The transit agency is detouring streetcars along this route, during the repairs:
- 511 Bathurst.
Shuttle buses replace the cars between College Street and King Street West.
Concrete repairs on Bathurst Street and the resulting TTC detour continue until July 24 (4 a.m.)
Crews work only in the track area to saw-cut the old concrete, break and remove the old concrete and place new concrete and asphalt.
The TTC explains that, “Rail work of this nature is required around-the-clock to ensure quality installation of new concrete / asphalt. Concrete breaking / removal work will typically end at 11 p.m. Expected overnight activities include placing new concrete/asphalt.”
The work zone reduces traffic on Bathurst Street to just one lane in each direction. “Paid-duty Toronto Police Service officers or flag persons will be on site to direct traffic. The City of Toronto will temporarily prohibit on-street parking near the work zone to maintain traffic flow. The work zone also blocks left turns at the intersection of Bathurst and Nassau streets.
Crews will remove the work zone when the new concrete has cured adequately for road traffic.
