Streetcars return to The Queensway, starting October 29

Starting tomorrow, Sunday, October 29, the TTC is restoring streetcar service along

  • The Queensway, between Humber and Sunnyside loops

for the first time since January, 2021, due to City of Toronto / TTC streetcar track and other infrastructure construction at the intersection of Queen Street West / King Street West / The Queensway / Roncesvalles Avenue.

Most streetcars along this route start and end their trips in Humber Loop:

Shuttle buses replace the cars west of Humber Loop. The buses operate along two routes:

  • 501L Queen - Long Branch; and
  • 501M Queen - Marine Parade.

The TTC continues to operate service along Queen streets east and west, The Queensway and Lake Shore West in sections due to ongoing construction projects:

  • Route 501A streetcars between Humber and McCaul loops;
  • Route 501D streetcars between Church Street and Neville Park Loop;
  • Route 501B buses between Bathurst Street and Broadview Avenue. (Route 501B buses detour eastward along Bay Street, King streets west and east and Church Street; westward along Church, Richmond streets east and west and Bay, due to ongoing Metrolinx construction of the future Ontario Line subway on Queen streets east and west between Victoria and Bay streets);
  • Route 501L buses between Long Branch and Humber loops; and
  • Route 501M buses between Marine Parade and Humber Loop.

Buses continue to replace streetcars along the 301 Queen overnight route. The buses operate along the regular route 301 path between Long Branch and Neville Park loops, but detour between Bay and Church streets due to the Ontario Line construction.

Also, starting Monday, October 30, the TTC is resuming limited rush-hour only service along this route between Long Branch Loop and downtown Toronto:

  • 508 Lakeshore.
