No subway service, November 11, 12: Kipling to Islington

The TTC is closing Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway between Kipling and Islington stations Remembrance Day, Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12. Line 2 trains only operate between Islington and Kennedy stations those days.

Shuttle buses partly replace subway service. The buses operate between the bus terminals at the two stations. Both stations remain open so that you can buy or pay fares or connect with TTC and MiWay buses.

Since Islington Station isn’t an accessible station, the TTC is advising westbound passengers needing an accessible connection to exit the train at Royal York Station and ask TTC staff for help and directions. Extra Wheel-Trans vehicles will be available.

While this part of the subway is closed, TTC crews are maintaining the tracks. According to a TTC news release, “While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.”
