Starting Monday, February 5, the City of Toronto is closing parts of
- Curity Avenue between O’Connor Drive and Canfield Road
during a project to modify and upgrade the storm- and sanitary-sewer system and reduce surface basement flooding.
Crews are:
- excavating the road and digging a trench to access and install the new sewers;
- replacing City-owned water service pipes that do not meet City standards from the sewer and water mains to private-property lines; and
- restoring all work areas with asphalt, concrete or grass when they’ve finished working underground.
The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:
- 91 Woodbine.
Construction on Curity Avenue and the resulting TTC detour continue until March 31.
The City previously closed Curity between Hollinger and Canfield roads during earlier basement flooding-protection program construction and the TTC detoured buses from Tuesday, September 12 until Monday, September 18, 2023.

From Monday, February 5 until Sunday, March 31, southbound buses operate along their regular path to Curity Avenue and Canfield Road, then detour:
northward along Canfield;
eastward along Dohme Avenue; and then
southward along O’Connor Drive to Curity,
resuming their regular path southward along O’Connor.Southbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Curity Avenue across from Cranfield Road and at O’Connor Drive.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop
- on O’Connor Drive at Curity Avenue.
Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.
Northbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Curity Avenue beyond O’Connor Drive and at Cranfield Road.
Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop
- on O’Connor Drive at Gardens Crescent.
