Metrolinx continues to upgrade the Stouffville rail corridor as part of the GO Expansion Program.
GO Transit is cancelling train service along the Stouffville line all day Saturday, February 24 and Sunday, February 25. GO buses along the 71 Uxbridge / Stouffville / Toronto route replace train service to and from all stations north of Unionville GO Station.
This weekend, Metrolinx crews are performing track construction and maintenance to make sure trains continue to move along the line safely and reliably. This work will also focus on updating key infrastructure for the Stouffville GO Expansion Program. They can only complete this work when trains are not operating.
Buses drop off or pick up passengers along three branches of route 71 to and from Union Station Bus Terminal:
- 71 branch: buses start and end trips on Railway Street across from Albert Street in Uxbridge.
- 71C branch: buses start and end trips in Old Elm GO Station bus terminal; and
- 71E branch: buses start and end trips in Mount Joy GO Station bus terminal.
Buses continue to operate along the 70 Uxbridge / Stouffville / Markham route with regular schedules between Uxbridge and Unionville.
Buses operate express to and from Unionville — they skip all stations in Toronto. Board TTC trains and buses to travel to and from Milliken, Agincourt and Kennedy GO stations. You may also board York Region Transit buses to travel to and from Milliken.
Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Stouffville line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
