Emerson Street Hamilton construction: HSR detour, overnight, February 22, 23



From 11 p.m. Thursday, February 22 until 6 a.m. Friday, February 23, the City of Hamilton is closing:

  • Emerson Avenue between Royal and Ward avenues,

while crews repair the sewers.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses along these routes, while the street is closed:

  • 5 Delaware; and
  • 51 University.

From 11 p.m. Thursday, February 22 until 6 a.m. Friday, February 23, eastbound buses operate along their regular path to Whitney Avenue and Leland Street, then detour:

northward along Leland; and then
eastward along Mapes Avenue to Emerson Street,
resuming their regular path northward along Emerson.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Whitney Avenue at Emerson Street and
  • on Emerson Street at Royal and Ward avenues.

Westbound buses operate along their regular path to Emerson and Sussex streets, then detour:

westward along Sussex;
southward along Leland Street to Whitney Avenue,
resuming their regular path westward along Whitney.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Emerson Street at Ward Avenue and beyond Royal Avenue and
  • on Whitney Avenue beyond Emerson Street and at Leland Street.
