Metrolinx is building the Ontario Line subway between Exhibition Place / Ontario Place and the area near the Ontario Science Centre, through downtown Toronto.

Metrolinx is building a new underground station that will connect to the new subway to Line 2 Bloor - Danforth at Pape Station. To get ready for upcoming major construction at the station, contractors are working in the station bus terminal, blocking bus bays 3 and 4 on the east side. “As early as” Monday, March 25, crews start installing two new bus bays on the north side of Lipton Avenue to temporarily replace bays 3 and 4. During this work, bus access to the station continues. Passengers and nearby residents and business people can expect noise from construction work and equipment in the work zone.

Starting Wednesday, March 27, the work zone blocks pedestrian access between Lipton and Eaton avenues. Access to the station from Eaton Avenue remains open.

“As early as” Easter Monday, Monday, April 1, crews start demolishing the canopy in the eastern end of Pape Station bus terminal. This work continues “for approximately 10 weeks”, meaning as late as until June 8.

Crews work Mondays to Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. They will install floor-to-ceiling hoarding to separate the accessible area of Pape Station from the work area. TTC passengers and nearby residents and business people can expect noise from construction work in the work zone. The crews will secure construction equipment and materials in the work zone.

Signs will be in place to guide passengers to the temporary bus-boarding locations.
