No Stouffville-line GO trains, May 4 and 5: Kennedy to Union

GO Transit is cancelling train service along the 71 Stouffville line between Kennedy GO Station and Union Station this Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. Metrolinx is “completing major construction” along the line near Union Station those days.

Two early-morning southbound GO trains leave Old Elm GO Station at 7:33 and 8:33 a.m. Then, trains operate every hour between Mount Joy and Kennedy GO stations from 9:33 a.m. until 5:33 p.m. GO is adjusting the schedule for the train that usually starts in Old Elm at 9:19 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Instead, the train starts in Mount Joy GO Station at 9:33 a.m.

Northbound trains operate between Kennedy and Mount Joy every hour from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Two more trains leave Kennedy at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m., but they continue beyond Mount Joy to Old Elm. GO is adjusting the schedule for the train that leaves Kennedy at 5:30 p.m. so that it ends its trip in Mount Joy, instead of Old Elm.

Board TTC Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway trains to travel between Kennedy and downtown Toronto. If you need accessible service, board the accessibility coach and staff will guide you to the TTC trains at Kennedy.

While this section of the Stouffville line is closed, Metrolinx continues working to integrate tracks for the east section of the Union Station Rail Corridor with the future Ontario Line subway. Crews are testing and commissioning railway infrastructure that they installed during the weekend of Friday October 14 until Sunday, October 16, 2023.

Work on the same project also affects GO trains along the 09 Lakeshore East line this weekend.
