Ontario Line - Pape Station: Metrolinx contractors blocking the entire bus terminal; TTC revising bus services, starting May 12

Ontario Line header.jpg

Metrolinx is building the Ontario Line subway between Exhibition Place / Ontario Place and the area near the Ontario Science Centre, through downtown Toronto.

Metrolinx is building a new underground station that will connect Ontario Line to Line 2 Bloor - Danforth at Pape Station. Starting Sunday, May 12, the TTC is closing the entire bus terminal at the station to allow the contractors to expand the work zone. Crews will continue to demolish the bus loop canopy, modify the station building, relocate utilities in the bus loop and demolish the tunnel ventilation shaft.

The TTC is detouring buses along these routes to operate to and from Broadview Station terminal, while Pape Station terminal is closed:

  • 25 Don Mills;
  • 925 Don Mills express.

It’s temporarily cancelling service along this route:

  • 81 Thorncliffe Park.

However, it’s also extending service along this route to replace route 81 service:

  • 72 Pape.

Passengers can exit or board route 72 buses at stops on Pape Avenue near the bus terminal.

The TTC is also making other changes to service along route 72.

To accommodate buses along routes 25 and 925 in Broadview Station terminal, the TTC is also revising service along these routes:

  • 8 Broadview; and
  • 62 Mortimer.

The buses operate to and from Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital. Passengers can exit or board route 8 and 62 buses at stops on Broadview Avenue near the bus terminal.

The transit agency is also making minor changes to buses operating along these routes:

  • 87 Cosburn; and
  • 100 Flemingdon Park.

Subway trains along Line 2 Bloor - Danforth continue to drop off or pick up passengers in Pape Station.

The TTC previously closed part of Pape Station bus terminal to accommodate Ontario Line construction starting Sunday, March 31.

During this work, passengers and nearby residents and business people can expect noise from construction work and equipment in the work zone.

This phase of construction at Pape Station and the resulting TTC service changes continue “until Fall 2024”, meaning as late as until November 30.
