Update — Friday, August 16, 2024, 10:29 a.m.: Crews start working on Phase 3 of the project — between Birchmount and Kennedy roads — Monday, August 19. The TTC is further detouring the buses.
Starting 7 a.m. Monday, June 3, the City of Toronto is closing
- Huntingwood Drive, eastbound lanes** between Warden Avenue and Birchmount Road
to accommodate the next phase of a project to improve the roadway and bicycle lanes.
The TTC is detouring buses along this route, while the lanes are closed:
- 169 Huntingwood.
Construction on this part of Huntingwood Drive and the resulting TTC detour continue until July 2.
During this project on Huntingwood Drive, the City intends to
- remove and replace roadway asphalt;
- build raised median islands and planters to improve the bike lanes;
- install raised TTC bus platforms; and
- repair curbs, gutters and sidewalks.
Contractors are working in three phases:
- Phase 1, July to November 2023 - east of Pharmacy Avenue to west of Warden Avenue (completed in 2023);
- Phase 2, May to July 2024 - east of Warden to west of Birchmount Road (this phase); and
- Phase 3, August to October 2024 - east of Birchmount to west of Kennedy Road.

Westbound buses operate along their regular path.
From 7 a.m. Monday, June 3 until 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, eastbound buses operate along their regular path to Huntingwood Drive and Warden Avenue, then detour:
southward along Warden;
eastward along Sheppard Avenue East; and then
northward along Birchmount Road to Huntingwood,
resuming their regular path eastward along Huntingwood.Eastbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Huntingwood Drive beyond Warden Avenue, at Duncanbrook Drive, beyond Dunmurray Boulevard and at Birchmount Road.
Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Warden Avenue at Bowater Drive,
- on Sheppard Avenue East beyond Warden Avenue (unofficial) and at Aragon Avenue and Amethyst Road,
- on Birchmount Road beyond Sheppard Avenue East (unofficial), at Bonis Avenue and beside #2481 Birchmount and
- on Huntingwood Drive beyond Birchmount Road (unofficial).
