Mill Street crane activity: TTC detours, June 8, 9



From 7 a.m. Saturday, June 8 until 6 a.m. Sunday, June 9, the City of Toronto is closing

  • Mill Street between Cherry and Parliament streets

to accommodate contractors who are lifting a crane at a construction site.

The TTC is detouring streetcars along these routes, while the street is closed:

  • 121 Esplanade - River; and
  • 202 Cherry Beach.

202 Cherry Beach

From 7 a.m. Saturday, June 8 until 6 a.m. Sunday, June 9, westbound buses operate along their regular path to Cherry Street and Lake Shore Boulevard East, then detour:

westward along Lake Shore East to Queens Quay East / Parliament Street,
resuming their regular path westward along Queens Quay East.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mill Street beyond Cherry Street and at Trinity and Parliament streets.

Eastbound buses reverse the westbound detour routing.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Parliament Street at Mill Street,
  • on Front Street East at Cherry Street and
  • on Cherry Street beyond Mill Street.

121 Esplanade - River

From 7 a.m. Saturday, June 8 until 6 a.m. Sunday, June 9, westbound buses operate along their regular path to Mill and Cherry streets, then detour:

northward along Cherry; and then
westward along Eastern Avenue and Front Street East to Parliament Street,
resuming their regular path westward along Front East.

Westbound buses skip their regular path

  • on Mill Street beyond Cherry Street and at Trinity and Parliament streets.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Cherry Street at Front Street East.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular path.
