MiWay revises routes and services, September 2



MiWay is introducing new express service along Burnhamthorpe Road — among many other changes — starting Labour Day, Monday, September 2.


MiWay is revising service along these MiLocal routes: 5 Dixie; 8 Cawthra; 9 Rathburn; 10 Bristol; 26 Burnhamthorpe; 28 Confederation; 35 Eglinton; 42 Derry; 43 Matheson; 44 Mississauga Road; 46 Tenth Line; 68 Terry Fox; 76 Burnhamthorpe; 87 Skymark.

It’s revising service along these MiExpress routes: 110 University; 126 Burnhamthorpe.

And, it’s revising service along these high-school special routes: 302 Philip Pocock - Bloor West; 304 Father Goetz - Mississauga Valley; 306 Streetsville - Terry Fox; 307 Philip Pocock - Bloor East; 313 Streetsville - Meadowvale; 314 Rick Hansen - Creditview; 315 Rick Hansen - City Centre; 321 Stephen Lewis / St. Joan of Arc.

It’s also revising the platform layout at these terminals: City Centre; Kipling; Meadowvale Town Centre; and these Transitway stations: Tahoe, Etobicoke Creek, Spectrum, Orbitor and Renforth.

Introducing a new route


126 Burnhamthorpe express

MiWay is introducing new express bus service along the Burnhamthorpe Road corridor between the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus and Kipling Terminal. Buses along the new 126 Burnhamthorpe express route bolster rush-hour service along the 26 Burnhamthorpe route. They also partially replace the former 76 Burnhamthorpe route.

Eastbound buses start their trips on Inner Circle Road on the campus, then proceed:

westward along Inner Circle;
southward along Residence Road;
westward along Outer Circle Road;
northward along Mississauga Road;
eastward along Burnhamthorpe roads west and east [Mississauga] and Burnhamthorpe Road [Toronto];
southward along Highway 427;
eastward along Dundas Street West;
south- and eastward along Subway Crescent; and then
south- and eastward into Kipling Terminal,
ending their trips at platform 13.

Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Inner Road on the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus,
  • on Burnhamthorpe Road East [Mississauga] at Central Parkway West, Mavis Road, Confederation Parkway and Duke of York Boulevard,
  • on Burnhamthorpe Road East [Mississauga] beyond Hurontario Street, Central Parkway East and Cawthra and Tomken roads, at Dixie Road and beyond Ponytrail Drive,
  • on Burnhamthorpe Road [Toronto] at The West Mall,
  • on Dundas Street West across from East Mall Crescent and
  • in Kipling Terminal at platform 13.

westward along Dundas Street West;
northward along Highway 427;
westward along Burnhamthorpe Road [Toronto] and Burnhamthorpe roads east and west [Mississauga];
southward along Mississauga Road;
eastward along Outer Circle Road; and then
north- and westward along Inner Circle Road to the University of Toronto Mississauga stop,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Kipling Terminal at platform 13,
  • on Dundas Street West at Billingham Road,
  • on Burnhamthorpe Road [Toronto] at The West Mall,
  • on Burnhamthorpe Road East [Mississauga] beyond Ponytrail Drive, Dixie, Tomken and Cawthra roads, Central Parkway East and at Hurontario Street,
  • on Burnhamthorpe Road East [Mississauga] at Duke of York Boulevard, Confederation Parkway and Mavis and Creditview roads and
  • on Inner Road on the University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus,

Buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops every 16 to 17 minute Mondays to Fridays only during rush hours.
