The TTC has announced that, overnight, from 11 p.m. Tuesday, September 3 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, September 4 and from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday, September 5, it’s detouring streetcars along these routes “due to streetcar infrastructure work:”
(The TTC has not specified the exact location of the project. The City of Toronto’s T.O.INview map of construction projects on City streets notes overhead wiring upgrades on Carlton Street between Parliament and Yonge streets “in 2024.”)
Shuttle buses replace the cars between Parliament and McCaul streets.

From 11 p.m. Tuesday, September 3 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, September 4 and from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday, September 5, westbound cars operate along their regular path to Gerrard Street East and Parliament Street, then detour:
southward along Parliament;
westward along Dundas streets east and west; and then
northward along McCaul Street to College Street,
resuming their regular path westward along College.Westbound cars skip their regular stops
- on Parliament Street at Carlton Street,
- on Carlton Street at Ontario, Sherbourne, Jarvis, Church and Yonge streets and
- on College Street at Bay and Elizabeth streets and University Avenue and across from McCaul Street.
Instead, westbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Parliament Street across from Oak Street and at Dundas Street East,
- on Dundas Street East at Ontario, Sherbourne, Jarvis, Church and Yonge streets and
- on Dundas Street West at Bay and Chestnut streets, University Avenue and McCaul Street.

Eastbound cars reverse the westbound detour path.

From 11 p.m. Tuesday, September 3 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, September 4 and from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday, September 5, buses replace streetcars along the 306 Carlton overnight and 506 Carlton routes between Parliament and McCaul streets.
Westbound cars start their trips on Parliament Street north of Gerrard Street East, then proceed:
northward along Parliament;
westward along Carlton and College streets to St. George Street,
ending their trips.Westbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at stops
- on Parliament Street beyond Gerrard Street East and at Carlton Street,
- on Carlton Street at Ontario, Sherbourne, Jarvis, Church and Yonge streets and
- on College Street at Bay and Elizabeth streets and University Avenue, across from McCaul Street and at St. George Street.
Westbound bus passengers may board westbound streetcars on College Street at McCaul Street.
Eastbound buses start their trips on Spadina Avenue south of College Street, then proceed:
eastward along College and Carlton streets;
southward along Parliament Street; and then
eastward along Gerrard Street East to Sackville Street,

Eastbound bus passengers may transfer to eastbound streetcars on the south side of Gerrard Street East west of Sackville Street.
