Starting 7 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, the City of Toronto is closing
- Alness Street, southbound lanes, between Supertest Road and Finch Avenue West and
- Champagne Drive, south- and westbound lanes, between Finch Avenue West and Chesswood Drive
to accommodate the next phase of a project (.pdf) to install new cycle tracks and resurface the roadway. The TTC is adding new bus stops to the corridor, while also consolidating and upgrading stops.
The transit agency is detouring buses along this route, while the lanes are closed:
- 107 York University Heights.
Construction on Alness Street and Champagne Drive and the resulting TTC detour continue until November 7.
During an earlier phase of this project the City closed traffic lanes on Champagne Drive, from Thursday, September 12 until Friday, October 25. The TTC also detoured buses along this route during that phase.
During another phase of the project, the City closed traffic lanes on Alness Street between Steeles Avenue West and Supertest Road, from Monday, September 16until Friday, October 18. The TTC also detoured buses along this route during that phase.
107 York University Heights
From 7 a.m. Wednesday, October 23* until 7 p.m. Saturday, November 16, the TTC detours buses along two branches of the route:
- the 107A branch; and
- the 107C branch (“via Supertest”).
From 7 a.m. Wednesday, October 23* until 7 p.m. Saturday, November 16, buses operate along their regular path to Alness Street and Supertest Road, then detour:
westward along Supertest;
southward along Flint Road;
eastward along Martin Ross Avenue;
southward along Dufferin Street;
westward along Finch Avenue West; and then
southward along Chesswood Drive to Champagne Drive,
resuming their regular path southward along Chesswood.Buses skip their regular stops
- on Alness Street beyond Supertest Road and at Brisbane Road and Finch Avenue West.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Supertest Road beyond Alness Street, beside #660 Supertest and at Flint Road,
- on Martin Ross Avenue beyond Flint Road and at Brisbane Road and Alness Street and
- on Dufferin Street beside #4610 Dufferin and at Finch Avenue West.
From 7 a.m. Wednesday, October 23* until 7 p.m. Saturday, November 16, buses operate along their regular path to Martin Ross Avenue and Alness Street, then detour:
eastward along Martin Ross;
southward along Dufferin Street;
westward along Finch Avenue West; and then
southward along Chesswood Drive to Champagne Drive,
resuming their regular path southward along Chesswood.Buses skip their regular stops
- on Alness Street at Brisbane Road and Finch Avenue West.
Instead, southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Dufferin Street beside #4610 Dufferin and at Finch Avenue West.
The construction doesn’t affect buses along the 107B and 107D branches of the route which operate east- and northward along Champagne and northward along Alness.
