Starting Monday, October 28, Brampton Transit is revising its routes and services, it says, “to ensure its transit system continues to move people around the city safely and effectively.”
It’s extending the path for buses along the 58 Financial route further into the Huttonville area and improving weekend and evening service along several routes.
Brampton Transit is revising service along these routes: 23 Sandalwood; 24 Van Kirk; 26 Mount Pleasant; 29 Williams; 32 Father Tobin; 33 Peter Robinson; 52 McMurchy; 53 Ray Lawson; 54 County Court; 57 Charolais; 58 Financial; 216 David Suzuki iRide high-school special; 505 Züm Bovaird.
Specifically, BT is: increasing service along routes; decreasing service along a route; increasing the frequency of service along routes; decreasing the frequency of service along routes; revising the path for buses along a route; and adjusting the schedules for buses along routes.
Increasing service along routes
57 Charolais
BT is increasing the hours of service Saturdays.
Starting Sunday, November 3, the last northbound bus starts its trip in Brampton Gateway Terminal at 6:45 p.m.
BT is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.
58 Financial
Starting Monday, October 28, Brampton Transit extends the path so that buses along the route operate further into the Huttonville area.
Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at new stops
- on Rivermont Road beyond Gladmary and Merrimac drives and Fordham Road and at Ferdinand Drive and
- on Lion Head Golf Club Road beyond Lower Thames Drive and at Bushfield Crescent [east] and Mississauga Road.
Northbound buses serve passengers at new stops
- on Financial Drive beyond Rivermont Road,
- on Heritage Road at Merrimac Drive and
- on Rivermont Road beyond Gladmary Drive.
BT is also decreasing the frequency of service along the route.
33 Peter Robinson
BT is resuming Saturday service along the route.
Starting Saturday, November 2, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:
- every 50 minutes before about 7 p.m.
23 Sandalwood
BT is increasing the hours of service late Saturday evenings.
Starting Sunday, November 3, the last eastbound bus starts its trip in Mount Pleasant Village Terminal at 12:20 a.m. Starting Saturday, November 2, the last westbound bus starts on Queen Street East west of Highway 50 at 11:47 p.m.
24 Van Kirk
Brampton Transit is increasing the hours of service Monday-to-Friday evenings.
Starting Monday, October 28, the last southbound bus starts its trip on Hurontario Street south of Mayfield Road at 9:23 p.m. The last northbound bus starts on the Peel Memorial Hospital campus at 9:25 p.m.
BT is also increasing the frequency of service along the route.

- every 25 minutes, instead of every 35 minutes, before about 7 p.m.
Decreasing the frequency of service along routes
32 Father Tobin
Brampton Transit is adjusting the schedules for buses along the route. By adjusting the schedules, it’s also decreasing the frequency of service Saturday daytime.
Starting Saturday, November 2, buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops:
- every 50 minutes, instead of every 45 minutes, before about 7 p.m.
However, new Saturday service along the 33 Peter Robinson route also provides passengers with extra service in the area where buses along the 32 Father Tobin route operate.
58 Financial
Brampton Transit is extending the path so that buses along the route operate into the Huttonville area.
BT is adjusting the schedules to accommodate the longer path. By adjusting the schedules, it’s decreasing the frequency of service Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Revising the path for buses along a route

Starting Monday, October 28, Brampton Transit extends the path so that buses along the route operate further into the Huttonville area.
Southbound buses start their trips on Rivermont Road south of Gladmary Drive, then proceed:
southward along Rivermont; and then
eastward along Lion Head Golf Club Road to Mississauga Road,
resuming their usual path southward along Mississauga.Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at new stops

Northbound buses operate along their usual path to Financial Drive and Rivermont Drive, then proceed:
westward along Financial;
northward along Heritage Road;
eastward along Embleton Road; and then
southward along Rivermont to Lion Head Golf Club Road,
resuming their usual path eastward along Lion Head Golf Club.Northbound buses no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops

Adjusting the schedules for buses along routes
216 David Suzuki iRide high-school special
Starting Monday, October 28, BT adjusts the schedule so that the morning bus ends its trip beside the school at 8:30 a.m. Monday-to-Friday school days.
505 Züm Bovaird
Starting Monday, October 28, the westbound bus that usually starts its trip in Malton GO Station bus terminal at 4:05 p.m. Mondays to Fridays starts, instead, at 4:08 p.m. The bus drops off or picks up passengers at stops as much as three minutes later than usually, ending its trip in Mount Pleasant GO Station bus terminal at 5:22 p.m.
By adjusting the schedules, BT improves service for passengers connecting with the bus from the GO Transit train that arrives in Malton at 4:02 p.m.
