Maple GO Station construction: YRT detouring buses, October 25 and 26



After 11 p.m. Friday, October 25 and all day Saturday, October 26, the Region of York is closing

  • Major Mackenzie Drive between Keele and Hill streets

int the City of Vaughan to accommodate Metrolinx contractors who are installing a pedestrian bridge at Maple GO Station.

York Region Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:

  • 4 Major Mackenzie.

GO Transit is replacing trains with buses along the Barrie line this weekend to accommodate the same project.


4 Major Mackenzie

After 11 p.m. Friday, October 25 and all day Saturday, October 27, eastbound buses operate along their regular path to Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street, then detour:

northward along Keele;
east- and southward along McNaughton to Major Mackenzie,
resuming their regular path eastward along Major Mackenzie.

Eastbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Major Mackenzie Drive at and beyond Keele Street, beside Vaughan City Hall, across from Hill Street and at Peter Rupert Avenue.

Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Keele Street beyond Major Mackenzie Drive, at Railway Street, and Masters Avenue and McNaughton Road and
  • on McNaughton Road beyond Falvo Street and at Troon Avenue.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour routing.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Major Mackenzie Drive at Hill Street, across from Vaughan City Hall and at Keele Street.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on McNaughton Road at Keele Street and
  • on Keele Street across from Masters Avenue, and at Killian Road and Major Mackenzie Drive West.
