Wright Avenue Weston construction: TTC detours, starting October 28

Starting Monday, October 28, the City of Toronto is closing

  • Wright Avenue between Gibson Avenue and Pine Street

to accommodate contractors who are resurfacing the roadway.

The work is the final stage of a project to modify and upgrade the storm- and sanitary-sewer system and reduce surface basement flooding.

Crews have already:

  • excavated the road and dug a trench to access and install the new sewers; and
  • replaced City-owned water-service pipes that do not meet City standards from the sewer and water mains to private-property lines.

Now, they’re restoring all work areas with asphalt, concrete or grass since they’ve finished working underground.

The TTC is detouring buses along these routes, while the street is closed:

  • 32 Eglinton West; and
  • 79 Scarlett Rd.
