Gibb Street Oshawa construction: DRT detour, starting November 26



Durham Region Transit is advising passengers that, starting Monday, November 26, it’s detouring its buses due to “road construction”

  • on Gibb Street between Centre and Simcoe streets south.

DRT is detouring buses along these routes:

Construction on Gibb Street and the resulting DRT detour continue until December 6.

From Monday, November 26 until 6 p.m. Friday, December 6, westbound buses operate along their regular path to Simcoe Street South and Gibb Street, then detour:

northward along Simcoe South;
westward along Metcalfe Street; and then
southward along Centre Street South to Gibb,
resuming their regular path southward along Gibb.

Westbound buses skip their regular stop

  • on Gibb Street at Centre Street South.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Simcoe Street South and John Street East and
  • on Centre Street South beyond John Street West and at Gibb Street.

Eastbound buses operate along their regular path.
