Gerrard East / Carlaw streetcar-infrastructure work: TTC detours, overnight, November 28, 29



From 11 p.m. Thursday, November 28 until 4 a.m. Friday, November 29, the TTC is detouring streetcars along these routes:

  • 306 Carlton overnight; and
  • 506 Carlton

“due to streetcar-infrastructure work” at the intersection of Gerrard Street East and Carlaw Avenue.

Shuttle buses replace the cars between Coxwell Avenue and Parliament Street.

Note that the TTC is detouring streetcars along the 305 Dundas overnight and 505 Dundas routes along Gerrard Street East between Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street from 11 p.m. Thursday, November 28 until 4 a.m. Friday, November 29 due to construction on Dundas Street East.

306 Carlton overnight

From 11 p.m. Thursday, November 28 until 4 a.m. Friday, November 29, westbound cars operate along their regular path to Coxwell Avenue and [lower] Gerrard Street East, then detour:

southward along Coxwell;
westward along Queen Street East; and then
northward along Parliament Street to Gerrard Street East,
resuming their regular path northward along Parliament.

Westbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Gerrard Street East at Ashdale Avenue, Woodfield Road, Greenwood and Prust avenues, Leslie Street, Jones, Marjory, Pape, Carlaw and Logan avenues, across from De Grassi Street, Broadview Avenue, St. Matthews Road and River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament streets.

Instead, westbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Coxwell Avenue across from Robbins Avenue and at Dundas and Queen streets east,
  • on Queen Street East at Woodfield Road, Greenwood and Alton avenues, Leslie Street, Jones, Brooklyn, Pape, Carlaw and Logan avenues, beyond Booth Avenue, at Boulton and Broadview avenues and Carroll, River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament streets and
  • on Parliament Street at Shuter Street, Dundas Street East, Oak Street and Gerrard Street East.

Shuttle buses replace the cars between Coxwell Avenue and Parliament Street. Westbound streetcar passengers may board westbound buses on the west side of Coxwell Avenue north of [lower] Gerrard Street East.

Eastbound cars reverse the eastbound detour path.

Eastbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Gerrard Street East at Sackville, Sumach, River and Blackburn streets, Broadview Avenue, De Grassi Street, Logan, Carlaw, Pape, Marjory and Jones avenues, Leslie Street, Alton and Greenwood avenues, Woodfield Road and Ashdale and Coxwell avenues.

Instead, eastbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Parliament Street across from Oak Street and at Dundas Street East, Shuter Street and Queen Street East,
  • on Queen Street East at Sackville, Sumach and River streets, across from Carroll Street, at Broadview Avenue, Saulter Street, Empire, Logan, Carlaw, Pape and Caroline avenues, across from Jones Avenue, at Leslie Street, across from Alton and Greenwood avenues and at Woodfield Road and Coxwell avenues and
  • on Coxwell Avenue at Dundas Street East, at Robbins Avenue and beyond Eastwood Road.

Shuttle buses replace the cars between Parliament Street and Coxwell Avenue. Eastbound streetcar passengers may board eastbound buses on the south side of Carlton Street west of Parliament Street.

From 11 p.m. Thursday, November 28 until 4 a.m. Friday, November 29, buses replace streetcars along the 306 Carlton overnight and 506 Carlton routes between Coxwell Avenue and Parliament Street.

Westbound buses start their trips in Coxwell Station bus terminal, then proceed:

westward along Strathmore Boulevard;
southward along Coxwell Avenue;
westward along [lower] Gerrard Street East;
northward along Parliament Street; and then
westward along Wellesley Street East to Sherbourne Street,
ending their trips.

Westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Coxwell Station bus terminal,
  • on Coxwell Avenue at Danforth Avenue, across from Earl Haig Avenue, at Hanson Street, across from Casci Avenue and at Fairford Avenue and [lower] Gerrard Street East,
  • on Gerrard Street East at Ashdale Avenue, Woodfield Road, Greenwood and Prust avenues, Leslie Street, Jones, Marjory, Pape, Carlaw and Logan avenues, across from De Grassi Street, Broadview Avenue, St. Matthews Road and River, Sumach, Sackville and Parliament streets,
  • on Parliament Street at Carlton and Winchester streets, and
  • on Wellesley Street East across from Ontario Street.

Westbound bus passengers may transfer to westbound streetcars on the east side of Parliament Street south of Carlton Street.

Eastbound buses start their trips westbound on Wellesley Street East east of Sherbourne Street, then proceed:

southward along Sherbourne;
eastward along Carlton Street;
southward** along Parliament Street;
eastward along Gerrard Street East;
northward along Coxwell Avenue;
eastward along Strathmore Boulevard; and then
southward into Coxwell Station bus terminal,
ending their trips.

Eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • on Carlton Street at Ontario and Parliament streets,
  • on Gerrard Street East beyond Parliament Street [unofficial], at Sackville, Sumach, River and Blackburn streets, Broadview Avenue, De Grassi Street, Logan, Carlaw, Pape, Marjory and Jones avenues, Leslie Street, Alton and Greenwood avenues, Woodfield Road and Ashdale Avenue,
  • on Coxwell Avenue beyond Eastwood Avenue, at [upper] Gerrard Street East, Casci Avenue and Hanson Street, beyond Earl Haig Avenue and at Danforth Avenue and
  • in Coxwell Station bus terminal.

Eastbound bus passengers may board eastbound streetcars on the east side of Coxwell Avenue north of Eastwood Road.
