Metrolinx and GO continue to improve amenities at Oakville GO Station, as part of the GO Expansion Program.
Starting the evening of Friday, November 29, Metrolinx crews are installing temporary rail bridges on top of the current tracks at Long Branch GO Station, while trains aren’t operating this weekend.
The crews mainly work on the east side of the tracks in or near the rail corridor. Pedestrians won’t be able to access the station. The temporary pathway from Edgeware Drive will remain open, however, the work zone will block access to the north platform from the pathway.
Construction vehicles and equipment will be active but mainly in the work zone. Expect noise, vibration, dust, and site lighting. Crews will take reasonable precautions to reduce disturbances by:
- reducing idling non-essential equipment;
- pointing lights away from residences;
- safely delineating the work zone.
Construction to install temporary rail bridge at Long Branch GO Station continues until December 2 (5 a.m.)
East platform construction continues overnight until August 31, 2025.
Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Lakeshore West line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
