Starting Tuesday, December 10, the City of Burlington is closing:
- Prospect Street between Ashley Avenue and Guelph Line
to accommodate a project by the City and the Region of Halton to:
- install a water main;
- install a waste-water main;
- install bike lanes;
- install a protected intersection at Guelph Line; and
- resurface asphalt and restore curbs, gutters, bus pads and sidewalks.
Burlington Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the street is closed:
- 4 Central.

Wednesday, December 31Monday, December 29, 2025, eastbound buses operate along their regular path to Drury Lane and Woodward Avenue, then detour:eastward along Woodward; and then
northward along Guelph Line to Prospect Street,
resuming their regular path eastward along Prospect.Eastbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Drury Lane beyond Woodward Avenue and at Prospect Street and
- on Prospect Street beyond Parker Crescent and at Guelph Line.
Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Woodward Avenue across from Peele Boulevard and
- on Guelph Line beyond Woodward Avenue and at Prospect Street.
Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour path.
Westbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Prospect Street beyond Guelph Line, Wesley Street and Paling Road and
- on Drury Lane beyond Prospect Street.
Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Guelph Line beyond Prospect Street and
- on Woodward Avenue beyond Guelph Line and Peele Boulevard.
