No subway service - March 1, 2: Bloor to Osgoode

The TTC is closing Line 1 Yonge - University between Bloor and Osgoode stations Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2. Line 1 subway trains operate only between Finch and Bloor stations and between Vaughan Metropolitan and Osgoode stations those days.

Shuttle buses partially replace subway service. The buses operate on the street, dropping off or picking up passengers at stops near subway stations on the closed section of the line. TTC staff will be available at or near stations to help direct passengers to the shuttle-bus stops. The TTC is also increasing service along east - west streetcar and bus routes downtown to help you travel to and from stations on the University branch of Line 1.

Most stations in the closure area remain open so you can buy fares or connect with TTC buses, streetcars or Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway trains and GO Transit buses and trains. However, College and Dundas stations are closed.

Wheel-Trans is also available for passengers requiring accessible service. The TTC is operating two extra Wheel-Trans vehicles between Bloor and Osgoode stations for any passenger needing help. Ask TTC staff about Wheel-Trans service, including frequency and where to find bus stops.

While this section of Line 1 is closed, TTC crews are maintaining the tracks.

According to a TTC news release, ” While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.”

The TTC is closing this section of Line 1 at least twice more during March:

  • Monday, March 3 until Thursday, March 6 — Bloor to Osgoode — close early — track work.
  • Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9 — St George to St Andrew — track work.
