The TTC is closing Line 2 Bloor - Danforth subway between Kennedy and Woodbine stations after 11 p.m. Friday, March 7 and all day Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9. Line 2 trains operate only between Woodbine and Kipling stations during those times.
Shuttle buses partially replace subway service, while this part of Line 2 is closed. (Or, consider a shuttle-bus alternative.)
Warden Station is closed. All other stations on the closed section of the subway remain open, so you can load PRESTO fare cards, buy PRESTO tickets and connect to TTC buses and streetcars or GO Transit trains.
Although shuttle buses are accessible, the TTC is also assigning two Wheel-Trans vehicles to operate between Kennedy and Woodbine stations. Ask any TTC customer-service employee for directions to Wheel-Trans stop locations.
While the subway is closed, TTC crews are working at track level on various projects, including installing technology for future 5G connectivity in the subway tunnels. The subway closure also accommodates Metrolinx contractors who are working near Kennedy Station to build the Scarborough Subway Extension.
This weekend, the TTC is also closing Line 1 Yonge - University subway between St George and St Andrew stations.
According to Metrolinx, the TTC is again closing the subway near Kennedy Station to accommodate the subway extension project from 11 p.m. Friday, March 28 until 5 a.m. Monday, March 31.

Shuttle bus alternatives
One way that you can reduce the impact of the closure is by planning ahead, leaving earlier than usually and giving yourself more time to get to where you’re going.
Although shuttle buses replacing subway service will be frequent, they may also be crowded.
Regular TTC buses provide less frequent, less direct, but, perhaps, less stressful alternatives.
- Board buses along the 8 Broadview route to travel between Warden and Broadview stations.
- Board buses along the 12A / 12B Kingston Rd route to travel between Kennedy and Victoria Park stations.
- Board buses along the 20 Cliffside or 113 Danforth routes to travel between Kennedy and Main Street stations.
- Board buses along the 135 Gerrard route to travel between Warden and Main Street stations.
Note also that streetcars along the 506 Carlton route link Main Street Station with downtown Toronto.
