GO adjusting train service along Barrie line, May 5, 6



Metrolinx and its contractors continue upgrading GO Transit’s Barrie line as part of the GO Expansion Program.


GO Transit is adjusting the schedules for trains along the 65 Barrie line Monday, April 28 and Tuesday, April 29 due to recent and upcoming construction along the line. The construction requires trains to travel more slowly in some areas.

Southbound
  • The trains that usually leave King City GO Station at 5:47, 6:16, 6:46, 8:01, 9:05 and 10:04 a.m. and 9:05 p.m. leave, instead, one minute later at 5:48, 6:17, 6:47, 8:02, 9:06 and 10:05 a.m. and 9:06 p.m.
  • The trains that usually start their trips in Allandale Waterfront GO Station at 6:12 and 6:42 a.m. start, instead, three minutes earlier at 6:09 and 6:39 a.m.
  • The train that usually starts in Aurora GO Station at 10:57 a.m. starts, instead, in Maple GO Station at 11:13 a.m. A GO bus along the 65 East Gwillimbury / Newmarket / Toronto route replaces the train between Aurora and Maple. It starts in Aurora GO Station bus terminal at 10:30 a.m., stops at King City and Maple GO stations and connects with the 11:13 a.m. train at Maple. Connection time is 12 to 13 minutes. You have to arrive at Aurora GO as much as 32 minutes earlier than usually to connect with the train in Maple.
  • The train that usually starts in Aurora at 11:55 a.m. starts, instead, one minute later at 11:56 a.m.
  • The train that usually starts in Aurora at 12:55 p.m. starts, instead, four minutes later at 12:59 p.m.
  • The trains that usually start their trips in Allandale at 1:08 and 9:10 p.m. start, instead, one minute earlier at 1:07 and 9:11 p.m.
  • The train that usually starts in Aurora at 3:04 p.m. starts, instead, in Maple at 3:20 p.m. A GO bus along the 65 East Gwillimbury / Newmarket / Toronto route replaces the train between Aurora and Maple. It starts in Aurora GO Station bus terminal at 1:35 p.m., stops at King City and Maple GO stations and connects with the 3:20 p.m. GO train at Maple. Connection time is 12 to 13 minutes. You have to arrive at Aurora GO as much as 32 minutes earlier than usually to connect with the train in Maple.
  • The train that usually starts in Aurora at 7:55 p.m. starts, instead, three minutes earlier at 7:52 p.m.
  • Passengers aboard southbound buses along the 68 Barrie / Newmarket / Aurora route have to wait 12 to 19 minutes (between three minutes earlier and four minutes later) to connect with trains.
Northbound
  • Some trains leave Downsview Park GO Station one minute later than usually.
  • The trains that usually start their trips in Union Station at 10:54 a.m. and 7:54 p.m. start, instead, three minutes earlier at 10:51 a.m. and 7:51 p.m.
  • The train that usually starts in Union at 11:54 a.m. starts, instead, one minutes late at 11:55 a.m.
  • The train that usually starts in Union at 12:54 p.m. starts, instead, four minutes later at 12:58 p.m. This train doesn’t stop in King City or Aurora GO stations. A replacement bus along the 65 East Gwillimbury / Newmarket / Toronto route starts its trip Maple GO Station at 1:40 p.m. to King City and Aurora GO. You’ll have to wait eight minutes in Maple to connect with the bus.
  • The trains that usually start in Union at 2:01 and 10:01 p.m. start, instead, one minute earlier at 2 and 10 p.m.
  • The train that usually starts in Union at 3:02 p.m. starts, instead, four minutes earlier at 2:58 p.m.
  • The train that usually starts in Union at 6:54 p.m. starts, instead, six minutes earlier at 6:48 p.m.
  • The train that usually leaves Downsview Park at 9:13 p.m. leaves, instead, one minute later at 9:14 p.m. This train doesn’t stop in King City or Aurora GO stations. A replacement bus along the 65 East Gwillimbury / Newmarket / Toronto route starts its trip Union Station Bus Terminal at 8:20 p.m. to King City and Aurora GO. (The bus starts in Union terminal 34 minutes earlier than usually.) This bus connects with another GO bus along route 68 in Aurora. You’ll have to wait 12 minutes in Aurora to connect with this bus.
  • Passengers planning to connect with northbound GO buses along the 68 Barrie / Newmarket / Aurora route may have to wait eight to 15 minutes in GO stations for their buses (as much as five minutes earlier or three minutes later than usually.)

Metrolinx and GO plan to accommodate more passengers and increase service along the Barrie line, as part of their GO Expansion Program (formerly “regional express rail”).
