Since Monday, April 28, the City of Toronto has closed
- Sentinel Road, northbound lanes, between Sheppard Avenue West and Lamberton Boulevard
to accommodate City contractors who are restoring the roadway after earlier water-main construction.
Since late 2024, the contractors have rebuilt Sentinel Road between Sheppard West and Lamberton Boulevard and replaced the water-main between Dovehouse Avenue and Fonthill Place, including the City-owned portion of substandard water services.
The City is also installing raised cycle tracks on both sides of the road, making for a safer and more comfortable cycling environment. Where feasible, the project also improves pedestrian amenities, including wider sidewalks, accessible crossings and raised crosswalks. During the project, the TTC is also upgrading bus stops to integrate with the cycle track and improve safety for bus operators, transit riders and cyclists.
Starting 7 a.m. Friday, May 9, the City expands the work zone to include parts of
- the intersection of Sentinel with Grandravine Drive.
That day, the TTC further detours buses along this route around the work zone:
- 106 Sentinel.
Starting Monday, May 12, it also detours buses along this route:
- 108A Driftwood via Grandravine.
This phase of construction on Sentinel Road and the resulting TTC detours continue until May 26 (7 a.m.).

From 7 a.m. Monday, May 12 until 7 a.m. Friday, May 24, eastbound buses operate along their regular path to Grandravine Drive and Ollerton Road, then detour:
northward along Ollerton;
north-, east- and southward along Derrydown Roadto Grandravine,
resuming their regular path eastward along Grandravine.Eastbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Grandravine Drive across from Ollerton Road and Gambello Crescent, at Sentinel Road and across from Derrydown Road.
Westbound buses reverse the eastbound detour path.

From 7 a.m. Friday, May 9 until 7 a.m. Monday, May 26, eastbound buses operate along their regular path to Sentinel and Hucknall roads, then detour:
southward along Hucknall;
westward along Broadoaks Drive;
southward along Derrydown Road;
eastward along Grandravine Drive; and then
south- and westward along Sharpecroft Boulevard to Sentinel,
resuming their regular path southward along Sentinel.Eastbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Sentinel Road across from Hucknall Road [north], at Lamberton Boulevard, Grandravine Drive and Stilecroft Drive [north] and across from Dovehouse Avenue.
Instead, eastbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop
