The City of Toronto and the TTC have completed their projects to replace 105-year-old water main and the streetcar tracks at

• the intersection of Bathurst Street with Lake Shore Boulevard West

and improve the streetscape

• on Fleet Street west of Bathurst.

The project also included replacing the curved streetcar tracks at the intersection of Bathurst / Eireann Quay with Queens Quay West and on Bathurst between King and Front streets west and upgrading the overhead wiring. During the next few weeks, the TTC will finalize new switches at the intersection.

Starting Sunday, June 22, the TTC is restoring regular streetcar service along these routes through the intersection:

• 509 Harbourfront; and
• 511 Bathurst.

Also starting June 22, the TTC is increasing the frequency of service along the 509 Harbourfront route to meet extra demand during the summer:

• Sundays and holidays from noon until 4 p.m.;
• Mondays to Fridays from 4 until 10 p.m.; and
• Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Since route 509 cars are again operating along Queens Quay West, the TTC is also revising service along this route:

• 511 Spadina.

It’s again splitting route 510 service into two branches:

• 510A branch — cars operate between Spadina and Union stations; and
• 510B branch — cars operate between Spadina Station and Queens Quay West.

Shuttle buses no longer operate along these routes:

• 509B Harbourfront; and
• 511B Bathurst

The buses temporarily replace streetcar service during the projects.

Construction and the resulting TTC detours started Monday, February 16.
