Peter Rupert Avenue Maple construction: YRT detour, starting August 12



Update — Friday, September 26, 7:45 a.m.: The City is closing another, nearby section of Peter Rupert Avenue and YRT is detouring buses, starting Monday, September 29.


Starting Tuesday, August 12, the City of Vaughan is closing

  • Peter Rupert Avenue, between Lealinda Road / Freedom Trail and Petticoat Road to accommodate a construction project.

York Region Transit is detouring buses along this route, while the traffic lanes are closed:

  • 105 Dufferin.

Construction on Petre Rupert Avenue and the resulting YRT detour continue until August 25.

Southbound buses operate along their regular path.

From Tuesday, August 12 until Monday August 25, northbound buses operate along their regular path to Peter Rupert Avenue and Sand Valley Street, then detour:

eastward along Sand Valley;
northward along Grand Trunk Avenue; and then
westward along Freedom Trail to Peter Rupert,
resuming their regular path northward along Peter Rupert.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Peter Rupert Avenue beyond Sand Valley Street and at Freedom Trail.

Instead, northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Peter Rupert Avenue at Sand Valley Street and beyond Freedom Trail.
