Lawrence Station "Easier Access" project: Buses resume service to and from terminal, starting August 31

The TTC is continuing its “Easier Access” program to install elevators in its rapid-transit stations, making the subway system accessible for everyone. The program supports the government of Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. The provincial legislation commits the TTC to achieving a barrier-free transit system by 2025.

At Lawrence Station, the TTC is installing elevators to improve passenger safety and convenience. This upgrade includes hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, structural and architectural components.

Starting Sunday, August 31, the transit agency is resuming bus service to and from the station terminal. Buses along these routes no longer detour:

  • 52 Lawrence West;
  • 124 Sunnybrook;
  • 162 Lawrence - Donway;
  • 952 Lawrence West express.

The buses have detoured since November 23, 2023. The TTC has also closed the main entrances / exits for the station on Lawrence Avenue since July 7, 2024. Starting Augusts 31, it’s reopening those accesses to passengers, too.
