Single-track subway operation, late September 29 to October 2: Finch West to Sheppard West

After 11 p.m., Monday, September 29 until Thursday, October 2, the TTC is operating Line 1 Yonge - University subway trains in both directions along a single track only between Finch West and Sheppard West stations.

During single-track operation, both south- and northbound trains may operate along a single set of tracks, while crews work on the opposite tracks. Expect delays of as long as 15 minutes at stations between Finch West and Sheppard West. You’ll have to change trains at Sheppard West or Finch West to continue your journey south- or northbound along the line.

If you require Wheel-Trans service, speak with any TTC customer service staff member for help or directions.

TTC crews are maintaining the tunnel structure after 11 p.m. those evenings.

According to a TTC news release, “While the TTC does most subway maintenance after service each night, it continues to require weekend and early weeknight closures to complete critical infrastructure and state-of-good-repair work.”
