Tomorrow, Thursday, October 30, the City of Toronto is reopening:

to traffic.
Since Sunday, September 28 the City and the TTC have been working on a project to replace the streetcar tracks, curves and switches at the intersection.
Starting October 30, the TTC resumes regular service along these routes:
The transit agency continues to operate buses along this route:
- 503 Kingston Rd.
Starting October 30, it extends the path for buses along route 503 to operate through the intersection to and from Sunnyside Loop (on the north side of The Queensway west of Roncesvalles Avenue). The buses temporarily replace route 504A streetcar service along King Street West between Queen Street West / The Queensway and Shaw Street.
It continues to detour streetcars along these routes, while it tests the new streetcar infrastructure:

Construction on this phase of the project to replace the streetcar infrastructure at King West / Dufferin started 5 a.m. Sunday, September 28. The TTC expected to continue working until until “mid November,” meaning as late as until November 22, so it’s **completng the project nearly three weeks earlier than it had planned.
Last year, the City and TTC completed phase 1 of this project by upgrading the aging streetcar tracks
- on King Street West between Dufferin and Shaw streets.
The City also replaced the 146-year-old water-main in the same area. Construction on both projects started Sunday, February 18, 2024. Construction ended ten weeks earlier than the City and TTC had planned and regular transit service resumed through the area Sunday, October 6, 2024.
29A Dufferin
Starting Thursday, October 30, buses resume regular service through the intersection of Dufferin Street with King Street West. Also, starting October 30, the TTC resumes the regular fall / winter service pattern for the route, again splitting service into two branches:
During most times of the week, every second bus starts and ends its trip in Dufferin Gate Loop (29A), while the alternate buses continue through Exhibition Place to and from Princes’ Gate Loop (29C). Sundays and holidays before about 8 a.m. and Saturdays from about 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., every third bus operates along the 29C branch.
