Other weekend events also affect transit services, October 31, November 1, 2



The World Series isn’t the only event in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area affecting transit services this weekend.

Smaller events in both Hamilton and Toronto also affect service Friday, October 31, Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2.

Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope

The City of Hamilton is closing

  • Beach Boulevard, Burlington-bound lanes, between Woodward Avenue / Van Wagner’s Beach Road and Eastport Drive,

and other streets Sunday morning to accommodate the event. Participants support several charities.

The Hamilton Street Railway is detouring buses while the marathon takes place.

11 Parkdale

From 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday, November 2, Burlington-bound buses operate along their regular route to Eastport Drive and Beach Boulevard, then detour:

northwestward along Eastport; and then
southeastward along Beach Boulevard; and then
northeastward along Eastport again to Beach,
resuming their regular route northwestward along Eastport.

Burlington-bound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Beach Boulevard [northwestward] beyond Van Wagner’s Beach Road, beside #203 Beach, at Fitch Avenue, across from Towers Drive, at Sierra Lane, across from Comet and Windermere avenues, at Locarno Avenue, beyond Third and Fourth avenues and at Pandora Avenue and Eastport Drive.

Instead, Burlington-bound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Beach Boulevard [southeastward] across from the Dieppe Memorial, Pandora, Fourth and Third avenues, at Locarno, Rembe and Comet avenues, across from Sierra Lane and Towers Drive, beside the Hamilton Rescue Unit and across from #107 Beach and Van Wagner’s Beach Road.

Halloween on Church

The City of Toronto is closing:

  • Church Street between Gloucester and Carlton Streets and
  • Wellesley Street East east and west of Yonge Street

Thursday evening and early Friday morning to accommodate the Church Wellesley Village Business Improvement Area’s annual event.

The TTC is detouring buses, while the streets are closed.

94 Wellesley

From 6 p.m. Friday, October 31 until 2 a.m. Saturday, November 1, westbound buses operate along their regular route to Wellesley Street East and Jarvis Street, then detour:

southward along Jarvis;
westward along Gerrard Street East; and then
northward along Yonge Street; and then
eastward along Wellesley East to Wellesley Station,
resuming their regular route northward into Wellesley Station terminal.

Westbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Wellesley Street East at Jarvis and Church streets.

Instead, westbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Yonge Street across from College Park, beyond Carlton Street and at Wellesley Street East.

Note that the TTC has temporarily cancelled service along the 94B branch of the route.

  • on Yonge Street at Grosvenor and College streets and beside College Park.
