Bathurst "streetcar infrastructure work": TTC detour, overnight, November 4, 5



The TTC is advising passengers that, from 10 p.m. Tuesday, November 4 until 3 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, it’s detouring streetcars along this route:

due to “streetcar infrastructure work.”

The transit agency hasn’t specified the nature or the location of the work.

Shuttle buses replace the cars south of Queen Street West.

511 Bathurst

From 10 p.m. Tuesday, November 4 until 3 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, southbound cars operate along their regular path to Bathurst Street and Queen Street West, then likely detour:

eastward along Queen West;
southward along Spadina Avenue;
eastward along Adelaide Street West; and then
southward along Charlotte Street to Oxley Street,
ending their trips.

Southbound cars skip their regular stops

  • on Bathurst Street at King Street West, Niagara Street and Fort York Boulevard,
  • on Fleet Street beyond Bathurst and Bastion streets and Fort York Boulevard,
  • on Manitoba Drive beyond Strachan Avenue and
  • in Exhibition Loop.

Instead, southbound cars likely drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Queen Street West at Augusta and Spadina avenues,
  • on Spadina Avenue beyond Queen Street West and
  • on Charlotte Street at Oxley Street.

Shuttle buses replace the cars south of Queen Street West. Southbound streetcar passengers may board southbound buses on the west side of Bathurst Street north of Queen Street West.

Northbound cars start their trips on Charlotte Street at Oxley Street, then proceed:

southward along Charlotte;
westward along King Street West;
northward along Spadina Avenue;
westward along Queen Street West to Bathurst Street,
resuming their regular path northward along Bathurst.

  • in Exhibition Loop,
  • on Manitoba Drive at Strachan Avenue,
  • on Fleet Street beyond Fort York Boulevard, across from Bastion Street and at Bathurst Street,
  • on Bathurst Street at Fort York Boulevard, Niagara Street and King and Queen streets west.

Instead, northbound cars drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Charlotte Street at Oxley Street,
  • on Spadina Avenue beyond King Street West and at Richmond Street West and
  • on Queen Street West at Augusta Avenue and at Bathurst Street.

511 Bathurst shuttle buses

From 10 p.m. Tuesday, November 4 until 3 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, buses replace streetcars along the 511 Bathurst route south of Queen Street West.

Southbound buses start their trips in Bathurst Station terminal, then proceed:

southward along Bathurst Street;
west- and southward along Fort York Boulevard;
westward along Fleet Street, Manitoba Drive and the Exhibition Loop access road into Exhbition Loop,
ending their trips.

Southbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in Bathurst Station terminal,
  • on Bathurst Street at Bloor Street West, Lennox, Harbord, Ulster and College streets, across from Nassau Street and at Dundas Street West, Robinson Street, Queen and King streets west, Niagara Street and Fort York Boulevard,
  • on Fort York Boulevard beyond Bathurst Street, across from Gzowski Boulevard and at Fleet Street,
  • on Manitoba Drive beyond Strachan Avenue and
  • in Exhibition Loop.

eastward along the Exhibition Loop access road and Manitoba Drive;
southward along Strachan Avenue;
eastward along Lake Shore Boulevard West and Fleet Street;
northward along Bathurst Street; and then
eastward into Bathurst Station terminal,
ending their trips.

Northbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • in Exhibition Loop,
  • on Manitoba Drive at Strachan Avenue,
  • on Fleet Street at Bathurst Street,
  • on Bathurst Street at Fort York Boulevard, Niagara Street, King and Queen streets west, Carr Street, Dundas Street West, Nassau, College, Ulster, Harbord and Lennox streets and Bloor Street West and
  • in Bathurst Station terminal.

The TTC says that northbound bus passengers may board northbound streetcars on the north side of Queen Street West east of Bathurst Street, but, since buses and streetcars travel to the same destination, the transfer is unnecessary.
