GO revises routes and services, starting January 3



GO Transit is introducing new service to and from Humber College Terminal.

Starting Monday, January 5, GO revises the path for buses along the 40 Hamilton / Pearson / Richmond Hill route, so that some buses along the route operate to and from Humber College Terminal Mondays to Fridays.

At Humber College Terminal, passengers can connect with TTC trains along Line 6 Finch West and Brampton Transit, MiWay, TTC and York Region Transit buses.

Buses along both branches link Humber College Terminal to the Hamilton GO Centre, Square One GO Bus Terminal, Toronto Pearson International Airport, Highway 407 Bus Terminal and Richmond Hill Centre Terminal. Some of the buses also operate to and from Unionville GO Station bus terminal.

(Interestingly, the TTC is also introducing new bus service linking Humber College to Pearson, starting Sunday, January 4.)

GO is also cancelling service along the 54 Markham / Vaughan and 66 East Gwillimbury / Newmarket / Vaughan routes.

GO is making many other changes to its services, including resuming regular service after the holidays, starting Saturday, January 3.

Introducing a new branch of a route


40H Hamilton / Pearson / Richmond Hill

Starting Monday, January 5**, GO introduces this new branch of the route Mondays to Fridays.

Buses along the new 40H branch operate between the Hamilton GO Centre and Richmond Hill Centre Terminal, but divert to Humber College Terminal. At Humber College Terminal, passengers can connect with TTC trains along Line 6 Finch West and Brampton Transit, MiWay, TTC and York Region Transit.

Eastbound buses start their trips in the Hamilton GO Centre at 9:35 and 11:35 a.m. They arrive in Humber College Terminal at 11:06 a.m. and and 1:06 p.m. They end their trips in Richmond Hill Centre Terminal at 11:40 a.m. and 1:40 p.m.

Westbound buses start in Richmond Hill at 10:55 a.m. and 12:55 and 3 p.m. They arrive in Humber College Terminal at 11:27 a.m. and 1:27 and 3:33 p.m. They end in Hamilton at 1:50, 3:10 and 5:35 p.m.

GO is also revising the path and adjusting the schedules for buses along the route.

66 East Gwillimbury / Newmarket / Vaughan

Friday, January 2 was the last day that GO operated buses along the route.

Southbound buses along route 66 no longer drop off or pick up passengers at stops

  • in East Gwillimbury GO Station bus terminal,
  • on Green Lane east of Yonge Street,
  • on Yonge Street beside the Green Lane Centre and at Aspenwood Drive, Bonshaw Avenue, Dawson Manor Boulevard and Davis Drive West,
  • on Davis Drive West across from Eagle Street West,
  • in the Davis Drive / Highway 400 Park and Ride carpool lot and
  • in Highway 407 Bus Terminal.

GO buses continue to serve some of these stops.

  • East Gwillimbury: 65 East Gwillimbury / Newmarket / Toronto; 68 Barrie / Newmarket / Aurora.
  • Green Lane: 68 Barrie / Newmarket / Aurora.

Buses along the 15A branch usually operate between McMaster University GO Bus Terminal and Aldershot GO Station bus terminal.

Starting Monday, January 5, GO operates buses on one new westbound trip along the route Mondays to Fridays “due to increased demand.”

And, holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

More passengers travel to and from the University of Guelph after the holidays. Also starting Monday, January 5, resumes regular service along the route 31M branch of the route. It again operates the westbound bus that starts its trip in Downtown Brampton Bus Terminal at 6:30 a.m. Mondays to Fridays. It ends in the University Centre terminal on the University of Guelph campus at 8:31 a.m.

GO is also adjusting the schedules for buses along the route.

Starting Monday, January 5, GO operates buses on one new eastbound trip along the route and two new westbound trips Mondays to Fridays “due to increased demand.”

Buses along the 41A branch drop off or pick up passengers at most stops between Square One GO Bus Terminal and Pickering GO Station bus terminal — but they skip stops in Richmond Hill Centre Terminal and near Scarborough Centre terminal.

Buses along the 41B branch operate express — without stopping — between McMaster University and Square One GO bus terminals, then serve passengers at all stops between Square One and the Centennial College bus terminal on the Progress campus.

Buses along the 41C branch serve passengers at most stops between Square One and Centennial College’s Progress campus — but they skip stops in Richmond Hill Centre Terminal and near Scarborough Centre terminal.

Buses along the 41F branch serve passengers at all stops between Square One GO Bus Terminal and the University of Toronto’s Scarborough campus.

Buses along the 47D branch operate express — without stopping — between McMaster University and Square One GO bus terminals, then drop off or pick up passengers at all stops between Square One and Highway 407 Bus Terminal.

Buses along the 47G branch serve passengers at all stops between “Mac” terminal and Erin Mills Transitway Station.

31 Kitchener trains

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

Starting Monday, January 5, trains again operate every 30 minutes, instead of every hour, along the line between Bramalea GO Station and Union Station.

GO resumes the eastbound trains that start their trips in Bramalea GO Station at 6:50, 7:26, 8:26 and 8:56 a.m. and 12:26, 2:26, 3:26, 8:26, 9:26 and 10:26 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

It’s resuming the westbound trains that usually start their trips in Union Station for Bramalea at 7:04 a.m. and hourly until 2:04 p.m. and 7:04 p.m. and hourly until 10:04 p.m.

And, it’s resuming the westbound train that usually starts in Union at 6:21 p.m. for Kitchener.

09 Lakeshore East

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

Starting Monday, January 5, GO again operates trains that start or end their trips in Whitby GO Station Mondays to Fridays during rush hours.

Westbound trains start trips in Whitby at 6:48 a.m. and every 30 minutes until 7:48 a.m. This results in trains operating between Whitby and Union Station every 10 minutes from about 6:30 until 8 a.m.

Eastbound trains end trips in Whitby at 5:10 p.m. and every 30 minutes until 6:10 p.m. This results in trains operating between Union and Whitby every 10 minutes from about 4:15 and 5:30 p.m.

21 Milton trains

Starting Monday, January 5, GO resumes the eastbound trains that usually start their trips in Milton GO Station at 6:45 a.m. Mondays to Fridays and every 30 minutes until 8:15 a.m.

And, it’s resuming the westbound trains that usually start in Union Station at 4:25 p.m. and every 30 minutes until 6:25 p.m.

Starting Monday, January 5, buses in both directions drop off or pick up passengers at new stops on Gibb Street east of Stevenson Road South in Oshawa. The new stops accommodate upcoming long-term construction on Simcoe Street South.

And, holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

More passengers travel to and from the Downtown and North Oshawa campuses of Ontario Tech University, Durham College’s Oshawa campus, York University’s Markham and Keele campuses and Sheridan College’s Hazel McCallion and Trafalgar campuses after the holidays.

Also starting Monday, January 5, GO resumes operating buses along the 56A, 56B and 56C branches of the route.

Buses along the 56A branch drop off or pick up passengers at local stops between Durham College Oshawa GO Station and the North Oshawa campuses of Ontario Tech University and Durham College Mondays to Fridays. They then operate express — without stopping — between the campuses and Cornell Bus Terminal in Markham. They then drop off or pick up passengers at most stops between Cornell and Square One GO Bus Terminal, but they skip Richmond Hill Centre and Highway 407 bus terminals.

Buses along the 56B branch serve passengers at all stops between Highway 407 Bus Terminal and Oakville GO Station bus terminal Mondays to Fridays.

Buses along the 56C branch serve passengers at all stops between Unionville and Oakville GO station bus terminals.

  • five westbound trips along the 30E branch Saturdays only.

Starting Thursday, January 8, it resumes

  • two westbound trips along the 30E branch Thursdays and Fridays only.

Starting Friday, January 9, it resumes

  • four eastbound and three westbound trips along the 30E branch Fridays only.

Buses along the 30A branch drop off or pick up passengers at most stops between University of Waterloo ION Station and Bramalea GO Station, but they skip stops in the Meadowvale Business Park area of Mississauga.

Buses along the 30E branch serve passengers at stops on the University of Waterloo campus and Wilfrid Laurier University’s Waterloo campus, then operate express — without stopping — to Square One GO Bus Terminal. They then continue to Bramalea GO Station.

25 Waterloo / Mississauga

More passengers travel to and from the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University’s Waterloo and Milton campuses, Conestoga College’s Waterloo and Milton campuses and Sheridan College’s Hazel McCallion campus after the holidays.

Starting Saturday, January 2, it resumes full service along the 25C and 25L branches of the route

every day.

Starting Monday, January 25, it resumes full service along the 25A branch.

Buses along the 25A branch operate mostly express — without stopping — between University of Waterloo Station and Square One terminal, but drop off or pick up passengers at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Waterloo campus and the Halton Regional Road 25 / Highway 401 Park and Ride carpool lot in Milton.

Buses along the 25C branch serve passengers at stops on the University of Waterloo campus and Wilfred Laurier University’s Waterloo campus, then operate express to Square One.

Buses along the 25L branch serve passengers at all stops along the route, including stops in both directions at the Toronto Premium Outlet in Milton.

Revising the path for buses along a route

Starting Monday, January 5, GO revises the path so that buses along the new 40H branch and the current 40M branches of the route operate to and from Humber College Terminal.

Eastbound buses operate along their usual path to Highway 427 and Finch Avenue West, then proceed:

eastward along Finch West;
south- and eastward along Humber College Boulevard;
southward along Silver Bell Lane;
through Humber College Terminal, stopping at Platform 10;
northward along Silver Bell;
eastward along Humber College; and then
northward along Highway 27 to Highway 407,
resuming their usual path eastward along Highway 407.

Westbound buses reverse the eastbound path.

56 Oshawa / Oakville

Holiday service ends and regular service resumes.

More passengers travel to and from the Downtown and North Oshawa campuses of Ontario Tech University, Durham College’s Oshawa campus, York University’s Markham and Keele campuses and Sheridan College’s Hazel McCallion and Trafalgar campuses after the holidays.

Starting Monday, January 5, GO resumes operating buses along the 56A, 56B and 56C branches of the route.

GO is also adjusting the schedules for buses along the route.
